Colours

Here is another colour combination: red/green and tan.
I will show you what i have created with it next week. What do you think you would create with this colour combination? Granted, we are in the Christmas season, however, this colour combination would work really well with any outdoor theme also.

Tim Holtz and new Ideas

I just noticed that there is no Thursday post. I will repost the entry tomorrow as I am not sure why it did not upload?

However, to provide you with some new ideas and possibly, some new inspiration go to the Tim Holtz Blog.
In this link he has created a tag with great techniques on distressing, masking and blending. Check it out at November Technique Challenge

Joy

Last week, I used a colour swatch consisting of blues, greys and even blacks. We created a card based on these colours: 2 hues of blue - 3 actually, silver and cream.
Instead of grey we used silver and instead of black we used dark blue. And of course, it is a Christmas card.

Your Motivation

I was reading a book the other day. It got me thinking, what is my motivation behind scrapbooking?
There are so many different reasons:
- healing
- expressing emotion
- goal setting
- simply creating
- for your family/generational/ancestral

Definitely, depending on how you scrapbook, will determine how your layouts are created. If you scrapbook for your family and solely create event based layouts, why not try a goal setting layout? For example, you may want to run a marathon...take a photo of your runners and journal how you plan on achieving that goal! Try Something New, Something out of your Comfort!

Still thinking of Christmas

I took time time to remember and be thankful for all that I have yesterday, as well try to everyday. Now, though, I am full on with Christmas thinking. Therefore, with Christmas on it way, I am crazily thinking about cards; so let's work on a Christmas colour combination. This wintry theme came from colourlovers.com

Songs

As i am working today, i have been downloading some music. Isn't it 'funny' that certain music sets certain moods - whatever mood you choose to be in. Well, as a challenge why don't you choose either a song title or lyrics from a song and use them on your next layout.

Quote and Sketch

I doubled up with last week's quote and sketch. I thought it was appropriate for the layout I was working on.

We now Got It

What is It?
It is the Slice Machine by Making Memories
And I have to say, it is an incredible little machine.
It can cut literally, hundreds of shapes, from many of the styles you have grown to love by Making Memories - letters, shapes and shaped letters...
This little machine allows you to cut at your setting, unplugged. Just plug it back in to take a charge when you need to. It cuts up to 4", will cut any type of paper, including vinyl and acetate and no replacement mats necessary. The tool comes with a tempered glass mat, that uses repositionable glue to hold the various types of papers in place. Come check it out! Hint: This may be the Christmas gift you are waiting anxiously for!
