Colour Challenge

So, I love working with these colour challenges. I find they make one (you,me and everyone else) jump out of their safety nets to create new and unique intrigues. So, because these colours are super trendy for 2010, I thought it would be a great way to start off the colour challenge!
I think I may create a card.

Vicks Layout

I have created my layout using the 'Vicks' advertisement. I didn't have a large photo so I used 3 photos to create one large one. I rounded the bottom corners and attached some words to where their words were laid out - at the bottom. I used bazzil and Basic Grey's recent fall papers.

SKETCH & CONTRIBUTIONS

I created a sketch for Victoria, Rose and Pat - it was their challenge, from this sketch to create a layout. The sketch is seen below along with Victoria's and Rose's interpretations! They double paged it, rotated it and of course, created it! I think they did a sound job!

Class February 27

We have images up for our class at the end of February - the card folder and box set. Truly, I love this little set, it so is becoming. It is a little welcome mat on top of your desk, anticipating the eagerness of being filled with lovely cards and little embellishments. Wouldn't you like to have this sitting on your desktop, or enjoy the look of the recipient's face when you give them this special little gift?!

Details can be found on the classes page of the website: CLASSES

Inspiration

I found this ad while searching online and thought it may do something for your creativity. I would make a layout in this format with curved edges, large scale photos and embellishments and type underneath. Yes, a funny not so becoming ad, but I bet if you weren't feeling too well, you too may opt for Nyquil! I will show you my layout next week.

Colour Trends

I have been creating some wedding invitations lately and have gone to various sites to try and determine what the top colour trends for 2010 might be. Let me pass them on to you, you can use these colours in so many different ways...home decor and renovation, carkmaking, scrapbooking, clothes shopping . . . I wish I could do all of those.

It looks like blue, is a major winner this year, along with purple still, but a fun colour might just be coral.
I saw this at MY PERSONAL ARTIST - a great sight for colour predicitons.

FASHION TRENDSETTERis another great reference for finding out what might just be the hip colours to blaze the runway.

BIRD: CLOTHING is another great find for a somewhat eclectic look and feelwith designers spanning the globe, clothing is always a great reference for what might just be. This is where the clothing image is got from.

HOUSE & HOME can be one other place to park yourself for inspiration, be it colour, renovations, design and style.

Finally, I have been reading that there is enough with the neutral colours as the economy gets back on track, therefore, reds, vibrant purples: DARK & BOLD! However, having read some blogs also....they are stating a more paired down approach is still in order. As alluded to, isn't it the feel of a cozy home, where memories are made that life should be found, and not trying to still keep up with the Joneses? Let's DIY, pair down, make old new again and just be! I'm up for that! Having stated that the, the 'homey' feel is still running strong. Therefore, peasanty colours, neutrals, greys and blacks are still, still moving in on 2010.

What colours will do it for you? Whatever colours they may be, wear them, decorate them, show them with style and pride. Isn't that why we are all here anyways (or at least in a minor way)? To show others what we are made of?!

A New Year

Ahhhh...I can hear it, I really can - everyone taking a breath of fresh air. The new year, a time to reassess and start anew. Time to forget about the woes of last year - I say that because so many i know did not have a very good 2009 - and build upon a fresh start. What will your fresh start be this year? Whatever it is, make it a triumphant one, dive in, don't look back, don't be afraid, remember you are supported and give 'it' all you got, because you never know what your going to get unless you try.

Scrap & Bean's newsletter is ready for January/February: NEWSLETTER

We have a couple changes to occur throughout our posts, so keep watching for that and we also have a couple contributers. Yay for contributers - I will introduce you to them as well. We will still post three times per week with themed days, so that you know what to expect.
