Week 13

WEEK 13... Perhaps its about counting your blessings or recognizing miracles. What amazing thing has happened to you lately that will fit on your week 13 card? A miracle to some might be nothing to another, but that doesn't matter. Write what counts for YOU. For my card this week I went whimsical with KI Memories Love, Elsie doodled paper and sticker along with an American Crafts embellishment and pen.

New Product

Here at our intimate little escape, we cannot get enough of new product.
Today we have new Queen & Co. - felt fusion. They have great new themes, like doggy and kiddies, beach and sports.
We have more stickles and now crackle paint. I couldn't get the paint over the winter for fear of it freezing in shipment. The wholesalers i order it from are a great ethical company that way. Definitely have it in stock now. Adirondack acrylics, crackle paints and of course more adirondack dabbers.
We also have new acrylic stamps and rubber stamps. They are beautiful. The whimsical nature look is a definite feature in scrapbooking and cardmaking this year.

If you missed it

We will have extra kits available from our colour saVVy class ready on Saturday, March 29, if you missed this class. A great class assisting you in expanding your horizons on how to use colour on your layouts and what those colours may portray.

LAst week's Sketch is This Week's Layout

This is my interpretation of last week's sketch. I originally wanted to do a two photo layout, however, it just wasn't working. So instead, i worked with Ruby...

Colour Time Again

Last week i linked you to a great colour website - the one to try and determine your colour personality. Have you done yours? If not, go to this post to bring you to the colour personality website colour link
My colour personalities were leather and wood and mosaic. So for next week, i challenge you to do the colour personality quiz and create a layout based on the colours of your personality.
Next week you will see a leather and wood layout.

Week 12

What happens when you just can't find the words...? This week, play with a little wordfetti, those colourful sheets full of words and phrases that fit the bill! Take a few kinds of wordfetti and combine them to express yourself this week. I used 7 Gypsies and Making Memories 'fetti along with some Fontwerks and Scrap in Style stickers.

That letter...

Last Sunday, i mentioned writing a letter to someone or some people that affected your life. i didn't think i would have that hard of a time with this one, but i am. it has taken me much longer to work on this layout than originally anticipated and i am still not complete. This is page 1, obviously people affected me more than i thought. I will complete or at least work on page two tom. and get the full layout up on the blog when it is fully complete. I sat at my desk for a good three hours trying to put to words the thoughts i had for these people and it just couldn't come.
however, this first layout is the start of, part of my letter
the photo may not make sense right now, but i will tie it in on the second page.

Happy Easter

I wanted to wish you all a happy easter.
My layout will be posted shortly...

Switch 'eroo

So because i posted yesterday with new product, today i will post the sketch.
There have been some of you telling me, you really like the sketch - which is excellent - i love the feedback.
I will continue to do one and multiple photo sketches.
This week is a one photo sketch, however, you can easily adjust it to make it a multiple photo. Where it shows the photo, place two, one atop of each other, or cut the photos down so that they are for example, 3*3 and then 4 side by side.
I have always liked this sketch and so wanted to push myself to use it. Hope you will create a layout with it too.

SOMETIMES you cannot WAIT!

I couldn't wait until tomorrow to show the really great product that is coming in. So i am posting today and who knows, we may have more tomorrow since lately it has been coming in daily.
We have received:
- Paper house in the store; these are great travel paper themes for all your travels.
- Basic Grey, seriously enticing fibers, brads, rub ons, rub on books, stamps and buttons and paper and and and....really great themes too
- Cosmo Cricket, beautiful papers and 'cutting edge' blackboard. Just think...chipboard, but black!! So you can crayon it and it won't be gloomy, but you can also cover it with their great diecuts or leave it black....

Week 11

Your happy place... it could be when you're doing something - dancing, playing, reading - or an actual physical location. Use a photo or just play with paper. Create that happy place on this week's card. I used a background of colourful (yet practical) graph-style paper from the Love, Elsie line. I added in some torn out 'mountains' and a sunshiny button. Can you guess where I like to be?

Have you ever...

had someone tell you something or do something to you that for some reason, you will never forget? I have....both for the good and the not so good. I wish i had the opportunity to come face to face with them and tell them how they affected my life. I probably will never be able to do that. But i can write a letter voicing how i feel. It may help. Again, this is a 'new' idea for me, however not a new idea in those '12 step' programs.
And by no means, am i being facetious as i write this.
So as a 'new idea' i challenge you to write a letter to someone and scrapbook it, tell them how they affected your life and why you can never forget what they said.
This just may help me quash some of the resentment i feel towards them...
(Next week...the layout)!

Thursday was General

We are working on our colour SaVVY class for March 27 and want to show you one of the layouts we are going to work on. This layout was using a colour combination from a great reference in learning to work with colour. Working with a variety of media and colours, we will explore how colour affects mood and use different colour schemes in 3 different layouts (one is a two page layout).

More layouts are posted at the store.

All i can say

Battle time, has gotten the best of me these last few days and i apologize that I have not posted since Wednesday. This post will be the sketch post. According to the sketch it was a double layout. We went for a single page layout, however.

Found

I found, actually i didn't find it...i was told about it...anyways a super cool website. However, i have to wait until next week to post, b/c i cannot give away everything in one day. Just remind me.
Well, my 'coolour' layout is complete. A green and purple colour swatch from last week is a green and purple layout this week. I am though, having a really hard time with a title...and well, journalling, i will leave for a more inspired evening.
Title anyone, title....(it is a photo of my mom).

Week 10

Hold on to your dreams! Just because you can't do it today, tomorrow or next month, doesn't mean you shouldn't tuck those dreams away. Create your card this week all about your 'bucket list' or 'stuff to do before I die...!" I covered the card with a scrap of Basic Grey, and punched little holes around the edge for a border. I doodled the title with EK Success pens, and placed a Love, Elsie sticker at the bottom...then composed my list! Who knows, maybe I can cross something off this year...

Pumped

So i am quite 'pumped' about this. I created these frames and have them hanging in our bedroom as well, i have created a really large shadow box of the butterfly's that is hanging at the store. I used the rhonna farrer stamps and my favourite pattern papers.

I hope it inspires you...

finally after about 4 hours of searching and working and reworking, i have found...
I wanted to start placing colour combinations to the blog for ideas to colourize your layouts. Although not the colour i originally wanted, i am posting this one and next week will use it in a layout post. have fun!

Week 9

Random thoughts. We get a million of them through our heads every single day. Today, one stuck in my mind...spring is coming! Despite the fact I adore winter, I couldn't get it out of my head that earthy smells, green grass and brand new beginnings were on the way. Take your card this week and document that one random thought that stuck around a little longer this week. I slathered my card in orange paint today, edging it with white. I tied a little polka-dot American Crafts chipboard flower to the card with pink bric-a-brac, then journalled around this embellishment.
