Layout

TOnight is a 'twofer': this layout incorporates both, the sketch and the quote from last week. A photo of some of my friends at an annual bbq I used pieces of pattern paper i had leftover, along with some basic brown cardstock.

On a side note, thanks all for coming out to the class tonight. You finished that mini-album in serious, record time! If you attended, i hope you like the album as much as i do!

Friendship

I have a quote for today, one based on friendship as I have a photo I would like to scrapbook of a group of my friends.
The quote is as follows:
“I do not wish to treat friendships daintily, but with the roughest courage. When they are real, they are not glass threads or frost-work, but the solidest thing we know.”

—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882), poet, philosoher, writer

I will create a layout with this quote in use for next week!

My Layout

Yes, the layout is a halloween layout, in reference to the colour combination from last week. I got the new 'fiskars' punch (the 'holey' punch used to edge the black cardstock that is vertical on the layout) - I love this punch. I have been finding ways to use it in almost every layout and card I have been creating lately.

I also used 'TIm Holtz Grungeboard' and his distress emboss powder to emboss the grungeboard. The rest is paper from My Mind's Eye.

This Sketch

I created this sketch for a card. You can manipulate it to a scrapbook layout. Where the title is, you would place a photo instead. Try it out - my card will be posted next week.

Colour COmbinations

Today, let's work with black and orange. These colours are very indicative of Halloween (All Hallow's Eve), night, fall season, mystery, isolated the colours represent sophistication, death, enthusiasm, amongst other various symbolisms.
I will show you my layout next week using these 2 colours together.
