When you hear a bell ring an angel has received their wings! Didn't she hang that bell on the Christmas Tree?
My ornaments cannot ring, but they sure can brighten and sparkle any tree up! Of course, depending on how you want your tree to look. This tree, in my mind, will be silver and sparkly. This is why I used silver foiled paper and stamped, only on some, black damask images. The tutorial on how to make these ornaments can be found here: Christmas Ball Ornaments

12 Ideas of Christmas - Idea 11

A Christmas Gift, or maybe what looks like one, but is really a pocket page.
Do you have, lists and pictures and miscellany that you do not want to scrapbook, but don't want to get rid of? The perfect example that always comes to mind, is when you take a trip and have plane tickets and brochures etc. Well this layout is the perfect match for those Christmas photos, those travel documents and whatever else you can think of to create ...
You will use:
12*4; 12*5; 12*6; 12*7 pieces of paper.
Adhere them all onto a 12*12 page. This one created was more intense, as there is a pattern trimmed to 11 3/4* 11 3/4 onto the 12*12. Once you have these pockets in place, adhere the transparency, cut to 12*6 1/2". Score a 1/2" and adhere this scored piece to the back of the layout.
Make sure to not adhere the pockets all the way around. You only want to adhere 3 sides, of course, so as to create the pockets themselves!
Add ribbon and stickers to complete!

You better be good, for Goodness Sake!
Make your own Christmas wish list and preserve what you asked for on a layout. It may be funny to look at in a few years, or if the wish list is for your kids, imagine what they will laugh at in years to come. Hey, I still laugh at wanting a Barbie McDonalds Drive-in. Seriously, it was one of the most awesomest gifts from Santa I every received!

Advent: Advent marks the beginning of the season of Christmas; a time for preparation, fasting, prayer and reflection.
At Scrap & Bean, we carry the dimensional boxes to create an advent calendar. Inside, you can place prayers, notes of gratitude, chocolate or whatever else you can think of, to prepare for Christmas.
However, you can also use this box for various other themes, consider, a jewelry box, a toy car garage, a knick knack drawer or whatever else your heart desires. I know we had some ladies from one of our classes use it for a chore reminder! What a good idea! Santa Claus is coming to town!
I am in the mood for Christmas carols it seems. Using Tim Holtz stamps and purple ink this card is a bi-fold card. It adds emphasis to the stamped image this way. And I love the fact the carols are not so traditional - purple and green, deep purple that is. Sparkle and shine to create a touch of the Christmas magic - use Tattered Angels glimmer mists and top it off by adding glitter to Santa's beard. Truly a magical Christmas card - anyone would love to receive this card in the mail.

The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful....let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Ahhhh, wintry Christmas cards, can we ever have enough ideas? Victoria used blue foil with the snowflake ribbon for a frosty, wintry feel. Then, to add some ice crystals, she used diamond rhinestones! Add a Christmas note and voila! A wintry Christmas card.

Tree Trimming, Tree Shopping, ... Winter Cold...Brrrrr, it is cold outside!
This layout was created with photos of purchasing a fresh tree in mind. Using Imaginisce paper, mittens to hang and Bazzill Cardstock, this layout is splendid!

12 Ideas of Christmas - Idea 5

Ahhh...one day closer to Christmas and the countdown continues. I have hardly even started readying myself, but will get a handle on it all this weekend!
Well, idea 5 creates a mini-album out of 1 sheet of 12*12. Of course, with embellishments and matting a few more pages were added. However, the album itself- 1 sheet! You will:
- score the 12*12 in 4 sections, all 6*6
- cut out one 6*6 square
- fold the top down
- fold the left side over to the right side
and don't forget to embellish and decorate!
simple!
This would make a great Christmas card for those of you that send photos of loved ones' to loved ones at Christmas!

12 Ideas of Christmas - Idea 4

Multi Photo Layouts! There are so many times, when we have too many photos to only make a single photo layout, but sometimes creating MPL's are really hard! How can we possibly fit all those photos on one page?! Use a template!
This MPL was created using the die-cut frame from last ideas cards. Graphic 45 die cuts were of course, punched out of a sheet of paper and what was left, but this frame that Victoria used to create this layout! How 'green' is that?! Talk about using every last morsel of this paper and putting it to use! She also used Making Memories foam stickers (cardinals and poinsettias).

12 Ideas of Christmas - Idea 3

Today is a card. Using the Graphic 45 die-cuts, you can create various cards. We popped the image, double matted with green and gold, then used the background die-cut to adhere to the card; added ribbon and a greeting and there you go...
You can create so many cards using these die-cuts, as well as mini-album covers, and even 'Old Time Christmas' pages.

12 Ideas of Christmas - 2

On the 2nd idea of Christmas...
Do you bake or make gingerbread houses for Christmas? Is this a special tradition you have with your children, grandchildren, spouse? Create a page then, displaying this special tradition.
Victoria used Webster's pattern paper, Martha Stewart gingerbread men and tulle to make it almost look like sugar string (at least that's what i think when i look at it).

On the first day of Christmas...
I know the 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas Day and end on Epiphany, however, we are using these 12 days to give you ideas for Christmas, be it, layouts, decorations, cards, projects and such and such. So stay tuned for Scrap & Bean's twist on the 12 days (...and yes, only 12 more days 'til Christmas according to our blog entries)!

So, without further adieu, the first idea of Christmas:
Prepare yourself with a calendar for December!
We have these blank calendrical sheets in the store. Victoria stamped each square with number stamps, highlighted the 25th (of course), used Hambly snowflake prints and added a matte to place a photo. Easy as 1-2-3! Really! A great way to track the holiday season, send a loved one a calendar page for the year ending (or starting) and to finish a page for the Christmas season!

Layout Take 2

Wow. 2 layouts this week - both of the same trip. I really am trying in my moments of time to finish these trips up. It is fun to reminisce and by the simplicity of the layout (as you can tell), I am really speedy at finishing them. Love that!

So based on last week's sketch, here is my layout. Really, a simple layout showing the streets of Kiev. Thanks for looking and I hope the layout and sketch inspired you enough to create one of your own!

I have been working on this layout and this is my effort. A trip from 1993 and a place to put some tickets via the fibers at the bottom. This is based on the article advertisement from last week.

Christmas Card Frenzy

It has been a Christmas card frenzy around here and I love it. Now all I need is to create a card box to place them all in, in which I already have. These boxes are going to go out to family with a 'bevy' of cards inside for various occasions. It still is really nice to receive a card once in a while through the post. Consider it to be the lost art of handwriting. The dimensions to make an A2 sized box for cards are:

Sketches

I always dream about far away places - places I would like to visit and let me rephrase, places I will eventually visit. I have had many an opportunity to go to far away places as it is, and I do have many photos in which to still scrapbook. I will scrapbook them eventually too! So when I created this sketch, that is what I had in mind. I find my travel scrapbooks to be a little more simple than my regular photo scrapbooks. Mainly, because I have sooo many photos and really want to complete them fast and efficiently and put down all the information. Therefore, I need lots of room for photos and journalling. Which is why I created this layout. This will be a layout of some of my travels and I will show it to you next week.

Drawing on Inspiration

I have pulled this magazine ad from the Ann Sacks collection. I like what the ad says and I like how it is very symmetric in layout - great inspiration for a page layout. You can find more about the line hereAnn Sacks. And you can find my layout based on this ad next week.

a 2'fer'

I have made another Christmas Card. Yes, it is that time of year where it seems as though everything i do is a Christmas card. Need i remind you, Christmas is only 6 weeks away?
So, this uses the pink and blue from Tuesday and the sketch from Thursday. Oh, and i am going to try really hard to get the Christmas card boxes i have been making along with the templates for Sunday's post.

SKETCH

So, i have a sketch here. I used stars as embellishments, but you can use whatever you want. The square in the center will be used for either a photo or the main subject of a card.

Colours

It seems to me that everywhere we look, pink and blue is popular for Christmas. Therefore, I am using pink and blue this week to create inspiration. I will show you what I have created next week.

One of Those

It seems to be one of those weeks....you know, when things pile up and no matter how hard you try the mountain gets larger?! So i am a little late with some posts from this past week! I have them here today and am now caught up.

My sketch from last week, has produced this card. I used the Magnolia stamps. I am finding a use for these stamps in everything i do lately (i love them)!

Waves

My coca-cola inspired layout.... Last week, i showed you a logo of coca-cola and wanted to create a layout inspired by it. Well, here is mine... I have a little wave of pink and orange midway through my layout - the same type of wave of pop that is seen on the coca cola image.

Layout

I have to say, I messed up. I created the layout for Thursday's sketch vs. Tuesday's. I am going to post my layout for Thursday as I don't want to miss a day, therefore I will post, this Thursday, the layout from last Tuesday....oh boy....I hope that makes sense?!

So, yes, I ended up creating a card based on the sketch. A really nice Christmas card. I used metallics paper, my Slice Machine, Inkadinkado stamps, and mirrored paper, which I ran through the Cuttlebug.

Sketch

I would say this sketch appears to be more of a card sketch than a layout, however, you can use it either way. There are definitely lots of layers in it.
Mine will be posted next week.
Sunday, due to the holiday, Thanksgiving, I will not post. However, will be back on Tuesday.

Branding

Coca-Cola is possibly the best known brand out there. When you see the red and the wave you know its coke - a trusted brand. I thought we would use the brand to create a page for next week.

Layout based on the Sketch

So last week, we had our sketch and this week i have the layout. The orientation is different, but still based on the sketch.

LAYOUT

Here is a version of my layout in reference to last week's advertisement. I used the primary colours of the lego pieces and the simplicity of the advertisement itself. The type i tried to keep in the same place, however I ended up placing mine more towards the lower corner.

NEW PRODUCT

We have new Making Memories Slice Cartridges in Stock and some new Dazzles themed stickers.

The slice cartridges now have enhanced features so you can shadow, mirror and cut faster!

Inspiration Day

So it is inspiration day, yes quotes or colours, but i think i want to expand this day's options...
Lots of times, i look to print ads and various health, food products to draw inspiration from. I have attached an advertisement seen in Dubai for karate classes. I sourced this ad from, AD SOURCE
Next week, you will see what my layout would look like based on this ad.

Well, here is my layout from last week's sketch. Our new product preempted the layout from Thursday, so i thought i would post it today. THis album is a 6*9 and i really like the way it is turning out - yes, i am still working on photos from 5 years ago, but who is counting?
