New Product

We received more prima in this past week - enticing studded flourishes and crystal borders. As well, we received our order of brass templates for dry embossing and pasting. We now have white core cardstock, so that when you sand or tear you see a white core and tiny little buttons for the smallest embellishing.
Maybe we will see you this weekend!

That quote

I found a way to use the quote from last tuesday and i think i am liking it.
I have started my wedding album (after 3 years) and although i am keeping it relatively simple, every once in a while a page will just have to pop!
I used prima paintables for this layout, along with the new heidi swapp butterflies. To get that colour on the paintables, i used watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

Week 21

It's either spring or Christmas when my Martha Stewart instincts kick in... Did you plant your garden this past weekend? Celebrate all things spring on your card for week 21. What did you plant? Flowers or veggies? I took my card and covered it with a vintage seed packet picture. I stitched the edges with thread and used my label maker for the word 'fresh.' Time to get your garden on!!

Watch This...ACRYLICS

My goal here is to create many video how to's. I posted one a long time ago and hope that i will be able to post many more. This definitely has been a long time in the 'idea stage.' Now many of you may already know how to implement these and other techniques that i will record. HOwever, many will not. I hope this inspires many to create and try something new or at least be reminded of what can be done . . . i would love to hear what you would like to see on 'my' videos. Have fun watching.....

Alright, i have to apologize for not blogging these past few days. For various reasons, my computer went down, then my printer, and i had to fix it all before i could blog. Then i had to figure out how to create and edit movies (as you will see in the most recent post). THanks for understanding!
This week's layout, i used the new doodlbebug pattern paper, along with bazzill cardstock and ribbon, finally, prima flowers. Because these are wedding photos, i am trying to maintain the utmost simplicity to create a timeless treasure....

Quoted

I really like this quote, however, i am not sure how i will implement it on a page?! I have a week to think about it. Until then, how will you use this quote on a page? . . .

“Are you upset little friend? Have you been lying awake worrying? Well, don't worry...I'm here. The flood waters will recede, the famine will end, the sun will shine tomorrow, and I will always be here to take care of you. -Charlie Brown to Snoopy”

Deck of ME

The deck of me is back after a pause. Check out 3 weeks worth for more inspiration in various forms from Kelly!
Thanks Kelly

WEEK 18

This is your five minute frenzy - what kind of card can you make in 5 minutes? Use scraps? Use your favourite colours? Grab something here and there and create what comes to mind! I think I lost a a minute or two searching for my hole punch...but otherwise, it was all right! Funny how the most amazing things can come out in a limited time. There are days I take this approach to scrapbook pages - stop deliberating for 20 minutes over colours and papers...just go with your feeling and tell the story!

WEEK 19

Your challenge this week is to use stickers. One sticker, multiple stickers - the scrap industry has such an amazing variety these days that can simply do the talking for you. I used a KI Memories Pop Culture sticker that covered the entire card.

WEEK 20

Celebrate your initial. Do you remember sitting in your kindergarten or first grade class and staring at the alphabet chart above the blackboard? K always yielded a 'KING' or a 'KITE' or a 'KANGAROO' but rarely kittens or king kong. For this week, I covered the card in Scenic Route paper, and then adhered one of those super cute sugared chipboard letters (K, of course). The chipboard was self adhesive, so I took the waxy 'k' leftover and placed it on top of the letter to protect it as I stamped a cat's eye-shaped inkpad around the letter to create a flower. i removed the waxy paper afterwards and traced the design with my pen, adding a bit of doodling and journalling.

A beautiful one

I just love this quote, so much i thought i would share. I hope it inspires you today:

"Promise me you'll always remember:
you're braver than you believe
& stronger than you seem
& smarter than you think."
~ Christopher Robin to Pooh

Thanks Christopher for believing in all of us when it comes down to the heart of it!

It is Green....

Last week, was the colour green, this week is the layout.
I used the distress ink, crackle paint from Tim Holtz - i really love this stuff. Very versatile and as it dries it ages and cracks! I also used, Hambly overlays, bazzill cardstocks and the cloud 9 doggie ribbon. A 'comfortably green' layout for the dog walking we always do ...

Happy Mother's Day

We wish you a very happy mother's day to all mother's and caregivers

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us when adversity takes the place of prosperity when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."
--Washington Irving

Generalizations

Thursdays are general days for blogging at scrap & bean and my general muse today is doodlebug's newest and latest. You have just got to come in to not only, see, but feel this new paper. Talk about spot flocked.
It is like wall paper on a 12 * 12 sheet of paper. I swear to you my aunt had wallpaper like this in her house and i would rub against the walls all the time when i was young to feel the velvety soft touch of the wallpaper.
Memory lane....memory lane..and come see this paper (or at least feel it)!
And now we have more flock in the store, so you can make your own velvety soft touch embellies!

Sketch = Layout

From last week's sketch is this week's layout. The layout is a 6*9 therefore, slightly smaller than the sketch, i just had to do a little maneuvering.

GReen

MY favourite colour is green...at least one of my favourite colours.
Green represents nature... It is a calming, refreshing color and is believed to assist in relaxation. Brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. Green means a juicy, tart granny smith apple; the soothing sounds of a humid tropical rainforest and the sights of winter's end turning to new hope and beginnings of animal's young and playful nature.
What does green mean to you? Equate it to a layout...mine will be posted next week!
