Sketch = Layout
Here is a layout based on last weeks sketch. A stretch you may say? Well sort of, however, look at the layout as a one page layout, just the right hand side. Now we are getting somewhere...then instead of pattern paper or ribbon, add pattern paper and photos atop of the paper and you just may have the right hand sided sketch as the layout that is posted.

The Colour Red
My interpretation of red...we have nice new Christmas papers at the store, so i was inspired. Inspired to create a Christmas layout and really inspired by Tim Holtz. If you go to his blog, you will see that my layout is strikingly similar to his mirror. Oh well. I just really liked it and thought that because I forced you and myself to create a red layout, Christmas was apropos.
Festive and fun and celebratory...Red.

Another Sketch for the Week

Colours
Working with red. I have to admit, I do not work with red very often. It is not one of my favourite colours, but...sometimes it takes working out of ones' shell to move forward. So, to challenge myself and you let's work on a layout with red in it.
When I think of red, I think: Christmas, sultry, lipstick, pomegranate ...
Red: creates a sense of intimacy and strength. Red excites our senses and activates blood circulation. It is the color of passionate love, sensuality and desire. Red is joyful. Red evokes, speed and action. It is no coincidence that so many sports cars are red. Red and orange are the hues that are easiest to perceive from a distance. This is one of the reasons they are used to warn against dangers. They are also the colors of prohibition. Stop signs and traffic lights are red. Warnings on medication packages are printed in red. Red attracts our attention. People who like to wear red tend to be ambitious, impulsive, excitable, and energetic. They tend to be high achievers, courageous and extroverted, which can make them good leaders. ~ compiled in part from Porter

A quote in Use
I decided to use last week's quote in my journalling of how my husband and I met. I used doodlebug pattern paper, bazzill brads, bazzill cardstock and typed my journalling on a transparency (if you are doing this, make sure to let it dry for at least 15 min. prior to handling - i learned the hard way)!

A Quote
I seem to have quotes posted in books and lying around everywhere i turn...
A quote for today (Tuesday's) entry (i don't know that i ever saw this movie, but found the quote somewhere):
"you're everything i never knew i always wanted."

General
Like everyone, i run flat out of ideas, therefore i keep an idea box. Whenever i see a nice colour scheme, layout or a sketch that i would like to eventually work with, i place them in a jar. This way when i run out of those ideas, i can pull an idea out of the jar and begin to work. I like this because the thought and the process has already occurred, i just now have to put in the time.
